Pegasus Hostel -
experience authentic Berlin atmosphere
Since its opening in 2001, Pegasus Hostel has inspired its' guests with an authentic, warm Berlin atmosphere. Previously a girls' only boarding school a hundred years ago, Pegasus Hostel now accommodates guests from all over the world. In 2008 a new build extension was added to the hostel, providing additional space and enabling us to offer reasonably priced accommodation for our guests, close to the ‘Ostbahnhof’ and ‘Alexanderplatz’. The backyard, an oasis of green, links the two buildings harmoniously, uniting the old with the new. Modern comforts such as Wi-Fi or ensuite rooms are available.
A hostel in a central location
Centrally located in the middle of the trendy district of Friedrichshain, between Karl-Marx Allee and Ostbahnhof, Pegasus Hostel is within easy reach of numerous transport links. The ‘Straße der Pariser Kommune’ leads from the Ostbahnhof directly to the hostel. Our reception is manned 24/7 and is available at all times, even if your arrival has been delayed.

Typical Berlin: the hostel backyard – an oasis of green
People who know Berlin are also familiar with the typical Berlin backyards, which form part of the period architecture of residential blocks. In the past, often grey and very functional, today they are often an oasis of green in the middle of a busy city, lovingly designed and maintained, inviting passers-by to pause and reflect. This is also the case for our backyard in the middle of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg.
In particular in summer time, our guests from all over the world use this space to come together in a relaxed atmosphere to talk, barbecue and enjoy concerts on the hostel’s own stage.

What really stood out for us about Pegasus was friendly and uncomplicated communication before, during and after our meeting. The team were open to any additional requests we had and there was always a point person available during our meeting. In general the staff were very friendly. In summary - great support, perfect organisation, fantastic food, clean rooms, lovely courtyard - we felt very comfortable and will definitely be back!
